Revitalization Plans Take Shape on Market East
Philadelphia is taking steps to revitalize the struggling Market East corridor with a series of short-term improvements ahead of major events like the FIFA World Cup and the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Plans include eight new retail pop-ups opening this spring along the 900 block of Market Street, along with large-scale murals by local artists, upgraded bus shelters, and dozens of new trees to brighten the area. The initiative aims to “fill gaps” caused by high retail vacancy while giving local businesses and creatives a chance to activate the space, as city leaders continue working on a longer-term redevelopment strategy for the corridor.

Spring Home Refresh: Small Changes, Big Impact
Whether you’re staying put or thinking about selling, a few simple updates can completely change how your home feels:
-
Swap in lighter, neutral textiles (think linen, soft tones)
-
Add greenery - real or faux, it instantly elevates a space
-
Update lighting (this is huge and often overlooked)
-
Style your outdoor space - even a small patio can feel like a retreat
The goal: clean, fresh, and a little elevated but still livable.
